Denver

We have spent the past three days in Denver, Co visiting my great uncle Guy who is 90 yrs old! Guy is probably the most vibrant 90 year old you can find. Guy truly is the man. He was a tank commander in WWII and got seriously wounded and then sent to the veterans hospital in Denver that specialized in treating tuberculosis. After recovering, he stayed in Denver and went on to become a lawyer and raise a family. Guy currently lives in a high rise senior condo community in downtown Denver and is all about having a good time. Upon our arrival, Guy took us out for Mexican and margaritas and then we swung by the gas station to pick up a six pack of Budweiser to continue partying at his place. On our second day Guy extended an invitation to Potts and myself to join him at water aerobics with his neighbors at the building pool. As you all know, we can't ever turn down an invitation for a new adventure! The next morning we came strolling up to the pool in our flip flops, board shorts, and wife beaters and absolutely turned the place upside down. To tell everyone the truth, those old ladies and Guy put us to shame! We stretched muscles we had no clue existed and have been sore the past two days. Guy turned out to be quite the tour guide and showed us all over the Denver area. We explored all over downtown Denver, went to a tour of the Coors brewery in Golden, went to see Buffalo Bill's grave, toured Guy's old stomping grounds in Applewood, and then went to the Red Rock amplitheatre. We also got the opportunity to hang out with Guy's wife Mary Jo and her lovely mother Mary. Our Denver hosts were excellent and we had a great time visiting the city.
