After seeing enough of Vicksburg Mississippi we headed further west to visit the Texan Cheggy family. After a 7 hour drive across Louisana and dodging afternoon traffic in Dallas we arrived in Arlington to casa de Chad and Lisa Chegwidden (Cheggy's brother and sister-in-law). We were greeted at the door by Lisa, Amy and James (Cheggy's niece and nephew). Also greeting us was there 180 pound English mastiff FiFi! After catching up with the family we had to get down to business and figure out how to set our redneck camper in their front yard! Needless to say after a major ordeal of tearing up the yard and almost flipping the camper we resorted to leaving the camper hooked up on the street, the Georgia incest had arrived in Texas! (See pictures below) We spent the next two days spending time with the Chegwidden family from Chad & Lisa feeding us steaks and ribs to playing with the kids in the pool. A great relaxing time with them treating me like family and of course having to treat Cheggy like family! I know ya'll are reading so thanks again!!!
From Arlington we headed north to the surprisingly big town of Amarillo, Texas directly in the panhandle of the state. Not a very exciting stop on the trip but gave us a chance to do some needed maintenance on the camper and truck and get ready for a long day of driving tomorrow. After only 4 days of being on the road we have managed to have a jack and a lockset break! After all that work we decided to treat ourselves to a steak dinner, at none other he the Big Texan Steakhouse. A tourist trap at its finest and home of the FREE 72 oz steak dinner, if completed in 1 hour or less of course, a feat neither Cheggy or I decided to take after hearing it was $72 if you do not finish within the hour!! We're headed to bed after a late night Wal-Mart run to get ready for our big day tommorow where we're headed north to Colorado!
