Colorado Bound
We pulled out of Amarillo, TX early this morning and headed for Colorado. We traveled thru the northern part of Texas and then cut west thru New Mexico and then north into the south western part of Colorado. After 8 hrs. of driving we reached San Luis State Park, which is directly outside Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve. The drive today was by far the most scenic and unlike anything I have ever seen in my life. The weather in Colorado is also pretty nice. Today the temperature was around 75 and tonight it's around 60. This evening we drove around some local dirt farm roads (which is pretty much all that exists out here) and then drove about 20 miles into the city of Alamosa to observe the locals and get more fuel.
